I am hunting to promote my organization and I am operating on the hits on Google and Yahoo. Is it greater to have multiple websites or have the a single site with a lot of domain names pointing to it? It looks that Google has a preference toward domain names?

While a decent amount of original content is essential, links from other sites are still the biggest single search ranking factor.
