How do I Buy a Website/Domain Name and Own All the Rights to the Name?

How do I buy a website name and be sure the hosting company can’t pull it for ANY reasons? Some companies’ TOS says they can pull it for [obscure legal jargon] and “bid it to third parties”

Which hosting company should I use?

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb has the best offer right now. It’s on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

You really shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket and register your domain with a purely web hosting service because if you ever want to move away from them it’s going to be a major hassle – and that’s if the fine print lets you!

Give yourself full control over your domain by registering it with a registrar that offers all the required domain management tools that’ll allow you the freedom to move your domain to any webhosting service provider you opt for – and move it away from them whenever you wish to.

It’s almost always a great deal cheaper too.Take a look at http://www.theregistrar.net – as inexpensive as you can get and with all the domain name management tools that you’ll need.
